President
Bree Comstock joined Ashwood Companies as the Director of Administration in January of 2005. In 2008 she was promoted to Vice President and assumed the role of President in 2016. Her responsibilities span a wide range, including project development, staff management, business development, relationship management, human resources, marketing, contract review, project modeling, to name a few.

Those positions included Senior Recruiter, Senior Account Recruiter, Account Manager, and Trainer. In addition, from 1992 to 1996, she interned for Ashwood Construction as an Assistant Superintendent on several local projects.
Bree received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature Studies from Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, CA. She has volunteered and held committee positions for many organizations and non-profit fundraisers, including The Junior League of San Francisco, The Poverello House, Saint Mary’s College Rape Counseling Center, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Race, the Tenderloin Children’s Playground and Recreation Center, She is a graduate of the IDEAL Fellowship Program through the Great Valley Center. In addition, Bree has served on the Board of the United Way of Fresno and chaired the Safe Neighborhoods Vision Council. Currently, she serves as Vice-Chair of the Catholic Charities Board.
Bree is married with three children and resides in Fresno.
Curtis J. Davies
Vice President and General Manager
Curtis has been a member of the Ashwood Construction team since June 2011, when he accepted a position as an Assistant Superintendent. Having been a part of the building community for the past 17 years, he offered a wealth of experience in business relationships and industry knowledge and quickly rose through the Ashwood ranks.

His responsibilities vary and include bidding, budgeting, project scheduling, project supervision, safety, business development, and relationship management.
Previously to Ashwood, he held several positions at JP Lamborn Co., a national manufacturer of flexible air ducting. Wich included Manufacturing Operations Manager, Plant Manager, Staff Manager, Safety Coordinator, and Inventory Control Officer. After overseeing JP Lamborn’s fourth plant opening and management in Lakeland, Florida for three years, Curtis returned to his home in Fresno, CA. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications, with an emphasis in organizational leadership, from California State University in Fresno, CA. Currently, he serves as Vice-Chair for the Poverello House Board.
Curtis and his wife Lane have three daughters Tinsley, Piper, and Sydney, and reside in Fresno.
Doug Sibley
Project Manager
When Doug Sibley joined the Ashwood Team in 1998, he brought with him a wealth of knowledge in a variety of construction management arenas, including large commercial, school and hospital, multifamily new, and rehabilitation.

Then, during the recession in 1981, he was recruited by Hall Mark Homes as a Finish Carpenter, where he worked until 1983. Doug then resumed the Foreman position with VanRoseboom Construction building retail commercial projects. In 1985 he was hired by Cumming Construction, a restaurants builder, as a Superintendent. He then moved on to work with DMC Construction Incorporated in 1987 on school, hospital, and commercial projects as a Superintendent and remained with the company for ten years. Following DMC, he worked briefly for Mauldin Dorfmeyer.
Assuming a Superintendent role for Ashwood in 1998, Doug directly managed three projects before being promoted to his current role as Project Manager in 2001. In this role, he is responsible for budget and design development and review, owner and agency coordination, and oversight and management of the Superintendents of projects from the Central Valley through the North State.
Doug has had a lifelong interest in sustainable design and environmental integrity. Taking advantage of Ashwood’s commitment to continuing education, he pursued and achieved several credentials, including HERS Rater, Certified Green Building Professional, Green Point Rater, and LEED Accredited Professional. He brings this knowledge and expertise to work for our clients, design professionals, and onsite staff. In addition, Doug is well versed in the requirements of TCAC financed projects and reporting needed for California State and Federal Davis Bacon Prevailing Wages.
Doug has been recognized for his construction knowledge and his leadership, multitasking, and organizational skills. Doug is a seasoned professional committed to seeing that his projects are completed “The Ashwood Way” – with cleaner, efficiently managed job sites resulting in a high-quality product.
Erik Jarl
Chief Estimator
Erik Jarl joined the Ashwood Team as an intern in June 2001. At the time, he was entering his sophomore year at Fresno State University, pursuing his Construction Management degree.

Prior to his internship at Ashwood, his on-the-job experience included experience in professional home remodeling and various trade experiences. In these positions, he had garnered extensive experience in new construction and rehabilitation work.
Scholastically, his college classes allowed for a broad understanding of construction. He excelled in CPM Scheduling, Estimating/Bidding, Construction Management, Mechanical Systems, Advanced Architectural Design, Building Systems, Statics & Strength of Materials, and Construction Labor Law.
In 2020, after nearly 20 years in the field, Erik was promoted to Chief Estimator, bringing a full breadth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of multi-family construction.
Mike J. Conway, Jr.
Chairman and Founder
In 1976, Michael J. Conway, Jr. co-founded Ashwood Homes, the first in the Ashwood line. Over the past 28 years, Mike has been the driving force of growth and expansion for the Ashwood Companies. Having played a significant leadership role in California’s multi-family housing industry, he has become one of the state’s most prominent developer-builders. With Mike at the helm, Ashwood Construction has completed more than 15,000 units in over 100 projects with the number of units ranging from fewer than 40 to more than 400. Among these, Ashwood’s greatest success are the many affordable developments throughout the state sponsored by CalFHA, HUD, HOME, MHP, RDA, LIHTC, and local housing development coalitions.
Under his direction, Ashwood Construction has received many prestigious awards. In 1993, the California State Assembly awarded him a Commendation for outstanding community service to the people of the Fresno area. Also in 1993, the Pacific Coast Builders Conference awarded the Cottonwood Grove, Best Apartment Project. In 2004, he was recognized with several awards including: Commendation for the Kings Villages Apartments by the City of Pasadena, Certificate of Recognition from California State Assembly, and the Family Self-Sufficiency Program Corporation, Inc. awarded a Special Recognition for our company’s leadership and contribution to the program.
Heavily involved in community betterment programs and charitable organizations, Mike and Ashwood Construction has contributed significantly both monetarily and in services provided. Right to Life, St. Helen’s Catholic School, Catholic Relief Services, Redemptorist of Nigeria, St. John’s Cathedral Restoration, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Family Self Sufficiency, St. Lucy’s Catholic Church, Lemoore Christian Aid, and Adopt-A-School are among those charities which have benefited from donations from Mike and Ashwood Construction.
His focus for Ashwood has always been the integrity, persistence, and quality of our team and of our product. He has handpicked and developed our core team of Project Managers and Executive Management. His partnerships have been strategically established to ensure a smooth job flow and on-time completion record. This “hands-on” approach has provided Ashwood Construction with the maximum capability to expedite production and control costs, factors that are critical to success. Mike retired from day-to-day responsibilities in 2007. He now serves as Chairman of the Board for Ashwood Companies.
Daniel Rajewich
Project Manager
Daniel Rajewich joined the Ashwood Team as a college graduate, fresh from the Fresno State University, Construction Management Program, in June of 2007. He brought with him both hands-on expertise as well as a well-formed academic understanding of construction. His on-the-job experience included time as a construction laborer for Blaine Construction Company, Inc. of Tulare, CA. Scholastically, his college class schedule allowed for a broad understanding of construction and Daniel excelled in such classes as, Drawings and Specifications, Electrical and Mechanical Systems, Jobsite Management, Construction Methods, Construction Accounting, Structural Design, Construction Estimating, Construction Scheduling and Soil Mechanics.
Daniel ascended the ranks of Ashwood, beginning as an Assistant Superintendent, promoted to Superintendent and most recently, to Junior Project Manager. From 2014 to 2022, Daniel had been focused solely on our multifamily rehabilitation arm. In his new role, Daniel is overseeing both rehabilitation and new construction projects spanning the Central Valley, Central Coast and the LA basin.
Marcos Pruneda
Project Manager
Marcos Pruneda joined the Ashwood Team as an intern. At the time he was in entering his final year at Fresno State University, pursuing his Construction Management degree. Shortly after his graduation in December of 2007, he was hired in a salaried position as an Assistant Superintendent. He brought with him both hands-on expertise as well as a well-formed academic understanding of construction. In his time as an intern and once he assumed the role of Assistant Superintendent for Ashwood Construction, Marcos received significant exposure to the realities of building multifamily projects in California. He was promoted to the Superintendent level in 2010 and excelled in his abilities to effectively and efficiently participate in preconstruction activities and transition seamlessly to the construction phase, steering respective projects to successfully completions. In 2021, Marcos assumed the role of Junior Project Manager and is currently overseeing several Central Valley and Central Coast projects.
