Doug K. Sibley
Project Manager

EXPERIENCE OVERVIEW:
When Doug Sibley joined the Ashwood Team in 1998, he brought with him a wealth of knowledge in a variety of construction management arenas, including large commercial, school and hospital, multifamily new and rehabilitation. He began his construction career in 1977 as a Carpenter for Level Construction, a new home and rehab builder. Recognized as an invaluable employee, he was quickly promoted to Foreman. During the recession in 1981, he was recruited by Hall Mark Homes as a Finish Carpenter, where he worked until 1983. Doug then resumed the Foreman position with VanRoseboom Construction building retail commercial projects and in 1985 he was hired by Cumming Construction, a restaurants builder, as a Superintendent. He then moved on to work with DMC Construction Incorporated in 1987 on school, hospital and commercial projects, as a Superintendent, and remained with the company for 10 years. Following DMC he worked briefly for Mauldin Dorfmeyer before accepting a Superintendent opportunity with Ashwood Construction.

Assuming a Superintendent role for Ashwood in 1998, Doug directly managed three projects before he was promoted to his current role as Project Manager in 2001. In this role, he is responsible for budget and design development and review, owner and agency coordination, and oversight and management of the Superintendents of projects from the Central Valley through the North State.

Doug has had a lifelong interest in sustainable design and environmental integrity. Taking advantage of Ashwood’s commitment to continuing education, he pursued and achieved several credentials including HERS Rater, Certified Green Building Professional, Green Point Rater and LEED Accredited Professional. He brings this knowledge and expertise to work for our clients, design professionals and onsite staff. Doug is well versed in the requirements of TCAC financed projects and reporting needed for California State and Federal Davis Bacon Prevailing Wages. Doug has been recognized not only for his construction knowledge, but also for his leadership, multitasking and organizational skills. A seasoned professional, he is committed to seeing that his projects are completed “The Ashwood Way” – with cleaner, efficiently managed job sites resulting in a high quality product.
