Steven L. Froberg
Joining the Executive Leadership Team of Ashwood Companies in August of 2004, Steve Froberg brought a wealth of varied experience to the team. Prior to accepting this position, he served as the City Manager of Lemoore, California for over seven years. During his tenure, the City of Lemoore received numerous awards for planning, economic development, redevelopment and revitalization. Froberg was recognized by the California State Legislature as the “Economic Development Professional of the Year” in 2000, and was honored by the Lemoore Chamber of Commerce as the “Citizen of the Year” in 2003.
Prior to his career in municipal management, he served on active duty in the United States Army for over 20 years, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. Most of his assignments were in combat logistics or weapon systems acquisition. Froberg served in the 8th Infantry Division during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and his last assignment as a battalion commander was planning and execution of the U.S. deployment from Germany to the Balkans to support the NATO Bosnia peacekeeping mission in 1995-96. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the Defense Systems Management College and has been certified by the National Contract Management Association.
Froberg earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of California at Santa Barbara and holds a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. He is Past President of the South San Joaquin Valley City Managers Association and serves on the governing board of several non-profit organizations. Froberg is currently the Vice President of the California Council for Affordable Housing and serves as Vice Chair of the Planning Commission of the City of Hanford.
Steve retired to the board of directors for Ashwood Construction, Inc. in 2016
